Name: Indigo (also answers to the nickname Indie, though she considers it informal and prefers it to be used by other dragons. She insists humans use her full name.)
Age: 8 years (young adult-ish in personality)
Eyes: Red (which gives her a rather frightening appearance).
Height: Slightly smaller than average.
Weight: Less than average, in proportion with her smaller size.
Gender: Female
Species: Night Fury, standard color.
Occupation: None. She is a wild dragon and is happiest that way.
Voice: Kate Winslet (Rita from Flushed Away)
Description: Indigo is built and colored just like any other ordinary Night Fury, save for her red eyes that are the result of a recessive gene in the Night Fury population. This same gene also inhibits growth during the juvenile years of the dragon's development, so even though she is smaller than the other Night Furies, she has indeed reached terminal size. Indigo will not get any bigger in her life time.
Demeanor: To her fellow dragons, Indigo appears to be aloof and indifferent to others around her, although she will not hesitate to offer some sort of interaction with others if she is bothered. She has her own little rock overhang facing the sea (she likes to watch the sunrise) that she decorates with shells and fishbones from her previous meals (cleaned in the ocean first, she won't admit it but she can be quite fanatical about keeping a tidy nest.)
Indigo harbors a natural fear of humans and hides it by being openly ferocious towards them, refusing to set foot in the village of Berk and refusing to have a trainer. If approached by a human, she will roar and bare her teeth, but only uses her fire if the human is definitely armed and has an intent to hurt her. However, she has a soft spot for music and will not harm a human who brings an instrument, especially a bone flute.
She also enjoys flying with a passion and will go on long trips just to feel wind beneath her wings.
Abilities/Weapons: Default Night Fury abilities and weapons. She can communicate but is only understood by other dragons. Her small stature also gives her an added bonus in stealth, and uses this tactic to sneak into sheepfolds without being seen.
Disadvantages: Because she insists on remaining an individual away from the main dragon colony, there are some dragons who see her as a traitor and may attack her on sight. Generally, her size affects her strength as well, and she can't take a hit as well as another dragon could. She also refuses help when she is downed, dragon or human; a characteristic from living alone for so long.
History: Indigo has little memory of her past or her parents and has been living alone for as long as she was able to without having to depend on catches from other dragons and leftovers. She did at one point live with the rest of the dragons in the Green Death's lair, but when she realized what was going on in the nest and what the Green Death did to those who lagged, she left out of pride and has refused to return since. This action has caused her to develop a sort of hermit-like personality and adds to a suppressed feeling of superiority over the wild dragons still under the Green Death's rule.
She knows of the village of Berk and the Vikings that inhabit it, and even with the "floating rumor" that they were no longer the dragon-killers they had been before, Indigo makes it a point to steer clear of all humans, avoiding any sort of contact if at all possible. She's never been to Berk itself, but occasionally watches it from her home in the cliffs, keeping a wary eye on the villagers and their dragon pets.
